Research and Feedback Interviews with Users

The VTID program partnered with Warm Hearth Village senior living residents to identify design opportunities to improve their quality of life and living spaces. Our group identified memory loss and forgetfulness as main pain points and worked under the mentorship and sponsorship of SFCS Architects to complete our project the Mindful Mirror. The Mindful Mirror is an entryway smart mirror that displays daily events & tasks on a touch screen display and has shelves and hooks for all your important next-to-the-door type items. With its accompanying app, the owner or trusted friends and relatives can access, edit, and send reminders from anywhere!

I was responsible for the modeling and rendering on Solidworks of the Mindful Mirrors multiple iterations before and including the final. I also researched and solidified the plan for the physical prototype, finding the specific materials we would need in order for it to be a works-like looks-like product. Our group worked together on research, ideation, creating the UI elements, and the creation and assembly of the final prototype.
